Main parameters, acting on the behavior of structures under horizontal loading conditions are the strength and stiffness of the structure.

 

In order to reinforce concrete frame building systems frequently encountered in our country, only designed and dimensioned for vertical loads or rather insufficient horizontal loads, the target is to improve these two parameters that determine the behavior of the structure.

 

Research has been carried out by compilation of a set of parametric solutions, in order to shed light upon improvement design for the behavior of weak concrete frames under horizontal loads, by the help of steel braced shear wall systems.

 

Main purpose for the study is to improve horizontal load handling capacity and increase horizontal rigidity of the existing system, by means of an economical method and to this end, the effect of different geometrical characteristics and bracing element slenderness on the system behavior was studied.
